Holiday Barbies began in 1988 with the first release of the Happy Holidays Barbie Doll. The series was a hit and the dolls sold out fast. Collecting Barbie at Christmas was just so much fun! The last Happy Holidays series debuted in 1998 for a total of 20. (Each year they were available in two versions: White or Black, except for in 1988 and 1989 and she was only available as a White doll). Mattel continues to release new Holiday Barbies every year.
